Retro...Get it?

Here's a work i was working on..might work on it MORE..hehe

anyway, it was an acetate drawing i did in class.. a week ago..was it? cant remember..anyway, yeah. Lois, the lecturer, told me to enhance the work. ENERGISE!..hehe..so yeah..i gave it a bit of couture paris touch. =) abit of Dubonnet. Well, u could say. A bit of France. =)

Havent got any comments from anyone by the way , so feel free to!

It was not a pretty drawing. It was messed up. Shaking. Blurry. But i loved the effect the pen gave to the acetate. Well, loved the whole work actually. I wanted the work to be abit of life. Spun by a few events and treats. And voila.

Well, like i said. C & C!

salam

EDIT:

Now that uve seen the colour version.. THIS was the original drawing.. on acetate. scanned =)

see how terrible it is..hahahaha

cheers!

hm..

i like d rough strokes. but since u mentioned DuBonnet, i think geometric shapes r more suitable. and for retro work, pick up d swatch from dubonnet and other art deco posters. since they have that 'airbrushed' color, and yeah, u can apply airbrushing jugak. To make it look very art deco.

i wud suggest clean lines for the figure. And more 'old' colors. Even when using bright colors, but u cn make d colors look old but making it darker and apply airbrush effect.

just a suggestion, hilmi. i love the concept. Dubonnet, hehe. Reminds me of mr. tay guan.

post again when u hav the new design! ^^

At first, i wanted to do a more Lautrec kind of thing. Mont Matre Posters?.. hmm but takle..sebab..the lines were wiggly woogly.hahaha nways..about the colours, i wanted to mix classic and contemp. so yeah.
