A mother's love...

Mother's day is a come this sunday.

Though most of us dont really celebrate it, it just gives me the chance to show and express how much i love me mum :)

Sometimes i think, have i done enough or spent enough time with my mum?

Many out there aren't grateful that they even have a mother. You should cherish every second you have with your mother. :)

Remember:
" Syurga itu di bawah telapak kaki ibu"
or
heaven is beneath the mother's foot.

Rasulullah has also said that " When anyone in this world calls you, answer your mother first."
God.. i love my mum.. she rocks weh..haha.. she's the most coolest person i can ever ask for ;)

Love You MAMA!!

Islamists : Women should not Appear on TV

Hmm this is what i call.. Dr taking a wrong approach..and woman giving a challenge to the man..

my opinion in this? well, i think that. if women were created equally as men, or so they think, then let them be. all we(MAN) have to worry is to be better than them for we can then LEAD them. right? :)

no harm intended in this post. :)

Of Religion...

" If you were to expel all lesbian and gay members of the clergy, then the ministry of the Church would be deeply impoverished and may well grind to a halt. "

5.3 fear

- fear -

Tis proven then that i was not dreaming! hahaha it was a 5.3 richter scale quake which at 00:56 hit a town in Lincolnshire. They claimed that it was a once in 20 years kind of thing. Where the last time, it hit Wales, it was rather devastating in 1984. :)

Destruction. Natural Disasters. Why do we flee when God places his wrath against us? Fear. Scare takes in our hearts. And at that time, many would be pleading. HELP ME GOD!

Is it only in the nature of men to ask for help from his creator when in distress?

He is the one and only. He is the 'Malik' of this world and the hereafter. Before and Everything. Allah s.w.t. He tells us of how devastating his wrath can be when we put ourselves in bad situations. The stories of Lut a.s and Musa a.s.

Fear is of something where we truly show our true colours. When fear leaves, we return to ourselves. Or do we?

Anywho, just a short post to ponder on. :) take care!

p.s: the image above was composed and not real. if it was. i wont be here :P

Shake...

Woah!! there was a minor shake felt in few parts of the UK. Not sure what it was but we'll just wait for the papers ;)

date with my daily posts. Was a tad busy during the weekends with so many activities.

Anywho, even today, i went to the Focus in Imaging Exhibition held in NEC Birmingham. It was so huge that we could've fainted whilst walking. haha.

Got to get hands on experience on many cameras, lenses and such. I FOUND A BATTERY PACK WHICH SUITS MY CAMERA!!! but....... it would cost me about £90.00. So yes, and for that reason, i was reluctant in buying it. besides, im alright with what i have now :)

Went with my friend Amar. had lots of interesting encounters and picked up two books too :)

anyways, will post photos from the Birmingham City vs Arsenal match tomorrow insyaAllah :)

Photography and Fine Art..

me ayu amin ira - mr.fairuz ;)
" Photography is not a goal but a means to imply me in the harmony of
the world "

Hey! i was going through images by Olliver Follmi and Marc Schultz. I learned alot from their experiences and their advice. Their ideas. Concepts. Not about their photos, but of their photography. Their intention. Their purpose. :)

The quotation above is by Oliver Follmi. I believe so too. Photography is mostly like a form of capturing the beauty of God's amazing creations.

The above photographers i mentioned are travel photographers. Despite the fact that they travel alot, they have a deep consent of the culture. :)

today i had my second class in photography. Was with robb gibbs and Paul Lander. We had lots of debates. Mini debates over controversial images in our Ethics in Photography Subject.

Honestly, there are just some artworks out there, meant to just make the hell out of other people. Problems. Plain inferiority. When we were taught that, NEVER go near a public swimming bath with a camera, i was shocked. Why would't they allow that? What can we do with a camera?

Being the devils advocate, paul started explaining that, there are LAWs, legal inductions which apply to photographers in certain areas. Mostly happening in the Europe and Americas. Havent heard of these such things in Malaysia before. Because you see, im not even allowed to take photographs of my own children(one day) having fun in the swimming pool? How absurd is that?

People now tend to think more of "What would he do with those images?" rather than " a great way to cherish a moment with the family".

ever since the age of pedophiles and other 'disgusto' terms of people who came up around the 1980's, photographers have been having a hard time. Even sexual abuse has been a trouble for them.

Me being a photographer too. Not a commercial one, nor am i a professional, i tend to think that, where's the freedom in photography?! What happened..?

I have the questions posted in my head. But i also have acquired answers from the world wide web and books all around. The tendency of imaging cognoscenti's to think of freedom in the world of fine art has been demolished.

Honestly, i believe, some of us "artists" have done things which demolished our own dimension. We were looking at images from Joel Peter Witkin and many more. Controversial. Purpose? I do not know. i suggest precautions when looking at these photographs.

What has the world come to. What is happening? Shouldnt art be of beauty ? or should it.
Yam, a friend of mine posted this question and raised the issue in one of her written assignments. It does not have to be about something beautiful, i believe, BUT having photographs which will deteriorate and literally cause harm to the world of artsy fartsy is not what im looking for.

So please, fine artists, fine tune your conceptual thinking and methodology of work. This post wont mean much to the fine artists up there in stardom anyway. hehe

any suggestive comments? :)

Masks

Venetian Mask (product) - Rome 08
Why do we cover our faces? With such a decree of shame and unimportance

. For which or when the reasons we are not to be honest?

A contradiction of smiles and grief. For what do we not allow truth be told?

I believe, only by being honest, is the utmost best way to work your way around the world.

new semester

And a new term starts. University now begins anew for me and lots of us. Semester two of the Visual Communications Course. :) am really delighted hehehe.

anyway, have not been updating myself with the blog. recent events that occured made me pause and not want to speak about much to everyone.

yesterday, i met a very nice lady. Datin Yurni was her name. She was amazing. the things she taught me. the tips and tricks she gave me. and of course, the things i have to look out for as a designer.

new haircut!!

well, as to our conversation, we were talking alot about the world of graphic design, printing and also employment. I'd have to agree with her points of discussion. Whereby, she thinks that many do not know their targets and goals in doing what they do best! true? untrue?
a crappy way to start my post, yes i'd agree. but hey!.. let the old dog run for a few miles aitte? :P hehehe..

tomorrow, atuk is going to have an operation. something to do with his knee and spinal cord. again?!. man.. he suffers alright. :( all please pray it'll all be alright ;)

life has been silent yet productive i would say. have been spending time with lots of friends. met new ones. and acquainted the people i have always wanted to know more :D

my God, i've been going to the gym. haha i cant believe myself. my 2008 resolution. to respect the body Allah has given to me :) have been working out and got myself sick. haha demam lar!! hehe. well, i got a fever even before i registered for the gym.. hmm must've been lack of sleep that time.

anyway, had a hair cut on friday. man, now i look like a standard one kid!.. papa and mama must really enjoy the haircut im having now. argh! haha :P

i miss home. i miss my family. i miss everyone.

i pray hard so that whilst im here, all will be valid and accountable for. :) insyaAllah. Results will be out for my composition and text and image modules this thursday and friday. Do pray for the best thanks ;)

Rome part II

Above is the french alps. Photographed from a few thousand feet above land :D

Below is where the famous Raphael Sanzio was buried after serving the Vatican. This place here is in the Pantheon. Right in the heart of Roma.

This trip reminded me of how civilization came about. How history is repeating itself. How mankind turns foolish and rejects traditional ideas. Greed of gold. and such :)

The trip was a really memorable one with my two mates. =)
