Yasmin Ahmad, one of the greatest creative minds in Malaysia and the world (IMHO) passed away at around 11.30pm on Saturday the 25th of June. She was admitted to the ICU earlier but now has been pronounced dead.
I'm sure you remember TAN HONG MING and UMIE KAZRINA? =)
I'm not sure of further details, but she was an amazing creative. She went to places where people didn't dare. She challenged taboos. She raised issues which weren't meant to be raised. She was one heck of a person. To be honest? She was one of the reason's why i was so interested in Advertising. Emotions and feelings. How she channeled those and inflicted results. Well, she did wonderful commercials and ads. And someday, I'll be wanting to step up my game as well.
If i recall, she was also a Creative Director at Leo Burnett. I can't really remember, but i think so. Anyway, may Allah lighten her family's burdens and may she rest in peace. Amin.
